Professional Development opportunities coming up

In July there’s two fantastic and affordable workshops happening in Christchurch thanks to IRMT and Celia:

Murray McLachlan Workshops and Recital - Rangi Ruru Girls’ School Theatre

Wednesday JULY 13 1-3pm “Motivation and Inspiration for teaching and practising”
Wednesday JULY 13 7.30pm Recital of Piano Music by Bach, Myaskovsky, Prokofiev and Chopin.
Thursday JULY 14 10am-12pm “Fulfilling and nurturing musical potential in all our students”

Admission to the workshops and concerts is FREE to members of IRMT.  Everyone else is welcome, there is a small charge of $20 per session (or $50 for all 3). Please contact Richard Chandler richardchandler@clear.net.nz to book you place and for payment details.

The Rangi Ruru Theatre has limited seats and so without booking there is a very strong chance you will miss out - an International Speaker like this is not one you leave until the last minute!

Singing For The Spirit - Selwyn House School Atrium - Saturday 16th July

Discover the joy of community singing.  Julian Raphael, director of the Wellington Community Choir, will guide participants through a selection of songs from the world’s cultures to enliven and nourish the soul.
Beginning with gentle, but stimulating warm-up songs and chants, inexperienced singers will soon ‘find’ their voice and before long we will all be singing together in parts.  This sing-shop is open to people of all ages and abilities and will aim to provide everyone with an enjoyable and uplifting experience.

$10 per person payable on the day.
Please bring your own lunch.
Tea, coffee and snacks provided.

This event has been made possible by a generous donation from the NZ School of Music at Victoria University in Wellington who fundraised to provide support for the Canterbury music community.
