AIMS & OBJECTIVES:

  • To foster a love of music of all kinds
  • To help parents feel confident and enthusiastic in sharing music with their children
  • To offer support to parents of children with special needs
  • To uphold the “Taonga” Sharing of the Treasures as in the Treaty of Waitangi.
  • To make music an integral part of everyday life within the larger community.

The Canterbury Musical Parenting Association is a fantastic resource for Early Childhood teachers, Music and Movement teachers and parents wanting ideas to develop musical play.

Membership entitles you to attend sharing meetings for free and discounted prices for workshops, access to our comprehensive library of Early Childhood teaching resources, access to musical parenting idea handouts, newsletters and  research based articles.

Meetings to share ideas & songs are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7.30pm.

Additional workshops are held throughout the year and include international experts in various fields, including early childhood development and music therapy.

The fun & informal meetings are held in the homes of Musical Parenting members.
